AZ: Midwestern University Promotes Dr. Joshua Baker to AZCOPT Associate Dean of Academic Affairs

Dr. Joshua Baker, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (AZCOPT)

Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, Midwestern University, is pleased to announce the promotion of Joshua C. Baker, O.D., M.S., to Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry (AZCOPT).

Dr. Baker previously held the titles of Assistant Dean and Clinical Assistant Professor for AZCOPT. He has worked to grow and develop clinical rotations at the Midwestern University Eye Institute and external rotation sites, as well as provided patient care and expert clinical supervision of AZCOPT students.

Dr. Baker, originally from Blossvale, New York, came to Midwestern University in April 2013 after serving as the Chief of Optometry Service at the U.S. Army Health Clinic in Stuttgart, Germany. An Army Major, Dr. Baker spent time deployed in Al Asad, Iraq from August 2007 to November 2008 and received the Bronze Star. Dr. Baker received his bachelor's degree from Ithaca College in 1999, earned a Master of Science in Secondary Science Education from Syracuse University in 2001, and graduated Magna cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2005.
