Community members can sample the life of a medical student at Midwestern University's Mini-Medical School. Learn more about current topics in medicine and health care without the rigors of late-night study sessions or difficult exams. The Mini-Medical School will be held on four consecutive Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:15 PM on March 30, April 6, April 13, and April 20, at the University's campus located at 555 31st Street in Downers Grove. The cost of the entire program is $25.
Topics this year include understanding and overcoming depression; treating lower back pain; exercise myths and body strengthening; and an update on HIV treatments and prevention strategies. The Mini-Medical School gives community members the opportunity to sit in the same classrooms as medical students and participate in classes led by the same professors and health care experts who serve as teachers and mentors to Midwestern University students.
Individuals interested in attending the Mini-Medical School can register by visiting the program's Web site at http://minimed.midwestern.edu or by calling 630/515-6048.
