With its $588 million, multi-year expansion now underway, Phoenix Children's has added four influential community members to its Board of Directors: Ronald A. Matricaria, an accomplished executive in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries; Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., the longtime head of Midwestern University; Jon Hulburd, a Phoenix attorney with deep community ties; and Mark Bonsall, a top executive with Salt River Project (SRP).

"We are honored that these four community leaders have chosen to lend their expertise to Phoenix Children's as it goes through the most significant expansion in its 25 year history," says Bob Meyer, president and CEO of Phoenix Children's.

Dr. Goeppinger is President and Chief Executive Officer of Midwestern University, a position she has held since late 1995, and is intimately familiar with the opportunities and challenges of growing an organization. Under her leadership, Midwestern University has greatly expanded its educational offerings in the health sciences, including a new clerkship in pediatrics offered to third year osteopathic medical students through a partnership with Phoenix Children's Hospital. Goeppinger has been a recipient of the Excellence in Osteopathic Medical Education award from the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association, a YWCA Tribute to Women Educator honoree, and a finalist for the Arizona Woman of the Year Award.

Phoenix Children's Hospital is Arizona's only licensed children's hospital, providing world-class care in more than 40 pediatric specialties to our state's sickest kids.
