September 16, 2008

In an annual rite of passage, 600 first-year students from Midwestern University (MWU) will receive their clinical white coats at a ceremony to be held on Friday, September 26th at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

On this day, graduate health science students from MWU's Downers Grove Campus will pledge their commitment to highest standards of compassion, scientific proficiency, and patient care. More than just a familiar lab coat, the white coat is a symbol for the students of their commitment to future patients.

At the ceremony, students of osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical science, and clinical psychology, will receive their white coats before an audience of academic mentors, family, and friends.

Those who receive their white coats this year will join thousands of alumni who also began their successful health care careers with the White Coat Ceremony at Midwestern University.
