The Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians (MAOFP) recently tapped two alums from Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) to serve on their Board of Directors. The MAOFP re-appointed Frank Komara, D.O. (CCOM 1977) and appointed Ronald Heitmann, D.O. (CCOM 1980), to the Board.
Dr. Komara is employed at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) as a Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in Geriatrics and as Associate Director of Continuing Education and Faculty in the Geriatric Education Center of Michigan. He also serves as Program Director for the Osteopathic Geriatric Family Medicine Residency Program at Sparrow Hospital/Michigan State University. Dr. Komara has appointments at Sparrow Hospital and Ingham Regional Medical Center, both located in Lansing, Michigan.
Dr. Heitmann is employed at Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals in Clinton Township, Michigan, and also serves as an associate clinical professor at MSUCOM. Dr. Heitmann holds a Michigan Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon license and is ACFP Board Certified in Family Practice.
The Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians is a non-profit corporation created to advance the standards of family practice in the field of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in the State of Michigan.
