Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove

The Internal Medicine Residency Program, of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, is an AOA-approved training program dedicated to educating the resident in the broad field of general internal medicine. We strive to provide the highest quality training and offer superior educational opportunities in both the clinical setting and didactic programs. Our program offers:

Swedish Covenant Hospital is a 330-bed hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient services, emergency services, extended care, family medicine, home care, and occupational health for the Chicago area.

Program Information

After successful completion of the program, the resident will become eligible to sit for the internal medicine certifying examination conducted by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.

Required First Year: 12 months

Year 2
General Internal Medicine (wards/ICU/CCU): 5 months
Subspecialty selectives: 7 months

Year 3
General Internal Medicine (wards/ICU/CCU): 5 months
