All alumni are invited to attend; the Class of 2001 will be celebrating their ten year reunion and physician assistant alumni from 1997 to 2001 will be holding their first reunion! The College of Pharmacy – Glendale will be recognizing their inaugural class as well.

CCOM Students Focus on Professional Development

Students from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) are working to develop programs to enhance their networking and professional skills. The Student Osteopathic Medical Association’s (SOMA) Professional Development Committee on the Downers Grove Campus are offering a variety of virtual events to encourage first- and second-year medical students to develop in areas that extend beyond academia.

My research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of Ca2+ release from intracellular stores (i.e. sarco/endoplasmic reticulum; SR, ER) in excitable cells. Specifically, I am interested on defining the mechanisms by which the Ca2+ release units, formed by either ryanodine receptors (RyRs) or inositol-trisphosphate receptors (IP3R), operate in conjunction with the Ca2+ channels (DHPRs) located in the cell membrane. To this end, the functional attributes of Ca2+ release events are studied at the global (cellular Ca2+ transient), local (Ca2+ sparks, puffs, and waves), and molecular

Glendale White Coat Ceremony: AZCOM, CPG, CVM

First and second-year students will receive their clinical white coats at the White Coat Ceremony on September 25th. During the ceremony, students from each college will pledge their commitment to uphold the standards of tomorrow's healthcare team and preparing for their future as healthcare professionals.
