The Midwestern University (MWU) OPTI located in Glendale Arizona is the western region of the MWU/OPTI system and features a diverse set of hospitals dedicated to medical education at both the pre and postdoctoral levels in both urban and rural locations embracing multiple specialties.
The MWU/OPTI, led by Dean and Executive Director Thomas Boyle D.O., is dedicated to serving all our programs as Academic Sponsor and assuring that each resident receives outstanding training during their residency program.
Each program highlights a mix of hospital, ambulatory and MWU campus activities that allows for social and professional interactions with your faculty and peers and the OPTI that gives you a feeling of a supportive community. The MWU/OPTI system offers integrated postdoctoral programs that capitalize not only on the physical and natural beauty of the southwest but in the local communities in which you live. Each program is led by a dedicated faculty committed to providing quality osteopathic medical education. The onsite faculty is joined by Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (AZCM) and OPTI faculty in OMM and others specialties to provide a diverse educational experience.
The role of the OPTI and AZCOM within the MWU/OPTI system is to pool together and coordinate medical education resources at the affiliated residency programs. The OPTI will contribute to Faculty Development, Research and Curriculum in collaboration with each site while monitoring resident outcomes and successful progress in their residency.
This unique system of postdoctoral education featuring close collaboration between a diverse set of dedicated professionals and locations provides the resident with the opportunity to both train and live in a nurturing and supportive environment into which each resident can attain their goals.
