Prerequisite Course Guides

To ensure that you are planning to take the appropriate prerequisite courses that fulfill Midwestern University College of Pharmacy's requirements for admittance, please refer to your undergraduate institution's course guide listed below. The courses listed in each guide will be accepted on both the Downers Grove, IL campus, as well as the Glendale, AZ campus in the College of Pharmacy. If your institution is not listed, please contact the Office of Admissions. Requirements and course equivalents are subject to change. For additional information regarding grades required, AP credit, and course load recommendations, please see the Additional Information section at the bottom of this page.

Additional Information

To qualify for admission to the College of Pharmacy (IL and AZ campuses), students must complete at least 62 semester hours of non-remedial prerequisite coursework from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. Students must receive grades of a “C” or better in all prerequisite courses. (We are unable to accept grades of “C-” (minus).) If college credit is earned from Advanced Placement exam(s), that credit will be accepted if it is recognized by the undergraduate institution and appears on the official transcript.

To best prepare for the rigor of a full-time pharmacy school curriculum, it is recommended to take full-time undergraduate course loads whenever possible. Not only will this accelerate the completion of prerequisite courses, it will also help build all-important time-management skills, develop good study habits, as well as provide an excellent foundation for future pharmacy coursework.
