On Wednesday March 20th, the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (AZCOM) was pleased to welcome Teresa Hubka, D.O., FACOOG, on the Glendale Campus. Dr. Hubka is the Chair of the OBGYN department at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM), and, most recently, has been named the President-Elect of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). She will begin her term as President in July.

During Dr. Hubka’s visit to the Glendale Campus, she offered two AOA presentations and participated as a guest faculty teacher in the OMM lab. Dr. Hubka enjoyed her experience on the Glendale Campus, recalling, “The AZCOM Faculty were very engaging. I enjoyed participating in the OMM lab as a guest faculty member to share some hands-on OMM skills for the students to learn. My favorite part was personally guiding various students in the proper hand placement and positioning of the patient.  Everyone was very receptive and inviting. I also loved getting a tour of the entire campus and meeting various other faculty and the Clinic staff.”

Lori Kemper, D.O. (AZCOM), Dean, expressed her excitement to have a CCOM faculty member and AOA President-Elect in Arizona. “It was wonderful to have Dr. Hubka on campus discussing osteopathic principles and practice with the Class of 2026. I am proud that an MWU faculty member is representing our profession nationally.”
