Students at the University of New Haven will have expanded access to graduate and professional healthcare programs through a new articulation agreement the University developed with Midwestern University.

New Pathways to Healthcare Careers

Beginning with students applying for matriculation in fall 2026, qualified University of New Haven students and alumni will receive guaranteed interviews for a wide range of Midwestern University healthcare professional programs at both its Downers Grove, Illinois, and Glendale, Arizona campuses. In addition, eligible applicants to Midwestern University’s College of Graduate Studies programs will receive guaranteed admission.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to supporting students pursuing advanced education in healthcare and expanding opportunities for future healthcare professionals.

“Strong partnerships like this one with the University of New Haven help create additional opportunities for students pursuing healthcare careers,” said Y. Gloria Yueh, Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Midwestern University. “By aligning our institutions, we are able to provide qualified students with clearer pathways into graduate and professional healthcare education across our campuses and programs.”

“This agreement underscores the University of New Haven’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that enhance academic pathways and career outcomes for our graduates,” said Nancy Ortins Savage, Ph.D., Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of New Haven. “Through our collaboration with Midwestern University, we are creating another direct and supportive route into graduate and professional healthcare education, while advancing our shared mission to educate highly skilled, compassionate, and confident healthcare professionals.”

Participating Midwestern University programs include osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, dental medicine, optometry, speech-language pathology, physical therapy, clinical psychology, nurse anesthesia, podiatric medicine, veterinary medicine, and graduate studies programs, among others.

Eligibility and Program Criteria

Under the terms of the agreement, students must meet established academic benchmarks, including program-specific GPA and standardized testing requirements, as well as demonstrate preparation for their chosen profession through clinical exposure, shadowing, service, and related experiences.

The agreement also includes pathways through Midwestern University’s College of Graduate Studies, where qualified applicants may receive guaranteed admission into select master’s and certificate programs, including Biomedical Sciences and Precision Medicine programs.

Program-specific criteria apply, including MCAT, DAT, OAT, and other standardized testing requirements depending on the field of study. All applicants must also meet Midwestern University’s admissions standards, including professional readiness, ethical conduct, and technical competencies.
