Midwestern University and Wheaton College Expand Education Partnership
New articulation agreement creates pathways into graduate and professional healthcare programs
- AZ - Glendale
- IL - Downers Grove
Midwestern University and Wheaton College have signed a new admissions articulation agreement that significantly expands opportunities for Wheaton College students and alumni pursuing graduate and professional education in the health sciences.
The new agreement builds upon an existing partnership established in 2023 focused on physical therapy and occupational therapy programs and significantly broadens the collaboration to include healthcare programs across nearly all Midwestern University colleges and both its Downers Grove, Illinois, and Glendale, Arizona campuses.
Beginning with students applying for fall 2027 matriculation and beyond, qualified Wheaton College applicants who meet program-specific criteria will receive guaranteed interview opportunities for a wide range of Midwestern University programs.
In addition, qualified applicants to Midwestern University’s College of Graduate Studies programs will receive guaranteed acceptance into select programs, including Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, and Precision Medicine offerings.
“This expanded agreement reflects Midwestern University’s continued commitment to building strong relationships with institutions that prepare students well for healthcare careers,” said Y. Gloria Yueh, Ph.D., Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Midwestern University. “Wheaton College students bring strong academic preparation, service experience, and a clear commitment to professional growth. We are pleased to create additional pathways into our programs across both campuses.”
Under the agreement, Wheaton College students who meet defined academic and experiential criteria, including prerequisite coursework, GPA thresholds, and demonstrated commitment to healthcare through service and clinical exposure, will be eligible for interview consideration at Midwestern University’s programs.
Program-specific criteria apply, such as MCAT, DAT, OAT, or other standardized testing requirements, depending on the field of study. All applicants must also meet Midwestern University’s admissions standards, including professional readiness, ethical conduct, and technical competencies.
“Wheaton College is excited to take this additional step with Midwestern University, which has an outstanding reputation for its many graduate-level programs in the health professions,” said Wheaton Provost Karen Lee. “Securing these additional options enhances the many outcomes available to our exceptional graduates. Grounded in our traditional Christian liberal arts education, this partnership affirms our commitment to academic excellence and prepares our students for compassionate, ethical service in the health professions."
