Articulation Agreement with Arizona Christian University

Articulation agreement requirements for qualified Arizona Christian University applicants, including program specific items.

This serves to record the understanding between Arizona Christian University (ACU) and Midwestern University (MWU) Glendale and Downers Grove campuses. Beginning with the class matriculating in fall 2020, the following colleges at MWU agree to guarantee interviews and reserve acceptances, for qualified ACU applicants per admission year. 

Applicants must meet all the requirements set forth below for reserved seating consideration which are listed out specific by College. If by March 1st of the annual admissions cycle MWU has not accepted into those reserved seats by applicants from ACU, then MWU may, at its discretion, offer the remaining seats for that cycle to other applicants. The reserved seats for ACU students will be reviewed annually with a potential adjustment to the number of seats depending on the total applicant pool from ACU and the educational progress of students admitted under this articulation agreement. 

ACU students applying for admission to MWU must satisfy the following minimum requirements before the academic year commences for the incoming class: 

  • Achieve a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.00 = A scale) in their undergraduate coursework (with a 3.60 cumulative grade point average in sciences) unless otherwise noted by College; 
  • Have received, or be on track to complete and provide proof of completion by matriculation at MWU, a baccalaureate degree from ACU or the exception would be for College of Pharmacy where the baccalaureate degree is not a requirement; 
  • Have completed the minimum number of the prerequisite courses (as stated in the Midwestern University Catalog) in the prescribed subject areas at a regionally accredited college or university with a grade of C or better before the program begins; 
  • Have the ability to successfully fulfill all technical standards for the respective College;
  • Receive a score of "High" or excels in their interview with the MWU Admissions Committee members on the day of the admissions interview;
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of and a sincere interest in the specific career field,  including shadowing at least one professional the respective discipline prior to admission;
  • Personal integrity and sound moral character;
  • Reflect a people/service orientation through community service or extracurricular activities;
  • Abide by the Midwestern University Drug-Free Workplace and Substance Abuse Policy;
  • Pass a criminal background check; and
  • Meet all other requirements set forth by MWU, including requirements documented in the catalog, student handbook, and this agreement. 

Additional considerations

International students

  • Must complete a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of coursework in the United States. Of the thirty (30) semester hours, fifteen (15) hours must be in the sciences, six (6) hours must be in non-remedial English composition, and three (3) hours in Speech/Communication. 
  • Additional requirements for international students that have been accepted into Midwestern University Programs are included in the matriculation agreement. These requirements are in addition to any specific MWU Program requirement.

Final decisions

The final decision on acceptance for Applicants shall be up to the sole discretion of the Program Admissions Committee, subject to approval by the Dean and/or Program Director.

The College of Dental Medicine will reserve a minimum of 5 seats; receive a score on the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) within the three years prior to anticipated matriculation at MWU, commensurate with the average DAT score of the D-1 class from the previous year.
 

Biomedical Sciences will reserve 10 seats for students with a minimum of a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, along with all other admission criteria on the website.
 

  • Clinical Psychology Program will reserve 3 seats; requires a GRE exam with a minimum score of 60 taken during the previous five years of the current admission cycle; successful completion of two semesters of senior-level writing courses
  • Cardiovascular Science Program reserves a minimum of 3 seats; must achieve all other published admission criteria with minimum GPA of 3.45 (Glendale only program)
  • Occupational Therapy will reserve 3 seats for candidates meeting published admission criteria and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5
  • Physical Therapy will reserve 3 seats for qualified applicants, and in addition these candidates must have taken the GRE; hold current certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS); completed a minimum of 60 hours of observation in a physical therapy department and ten hours must be in acute care and the remaining 50 hours must be distributed in at least two other practice environments that may include home health, outpatient; orthopedic and sports, rehabilitation, skilled nursing or pediatrics 

  • Receive a score of 510 or higher on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) within the three years prior to anticipated matriculation at MWU; 
  • Minimum of 5 reserved seats 

  • Will reserve a minimum of 5 seats for students who achieve a minimum of a 3.25 cumulative and science GPA.
  • Students must have taken the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) during the previous five years of the current admission cycle, and achieved a minimum composite score of 75 with no individual component less than 50 

Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine will reserve a minimum of 3 seats for candidates who in addition to the stated minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 receive competitive scores on MCAT exam; a good understanding of podiatric medicine;

The College of Veterinary Medicine will reserve a minimum of two seats; competitive score on GRE.
